Kenzie ate most of her whole wheat toast and thirds on mixed berries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her ham, bean soup and saltines and about half of her kiwi.
Kenzie was her usual busy self today -- stacking blocks, carrying dollies, trying on dress-up clothes and chomping on some play food. I think she has been missing the purses and shopping a little since we did the toy exchange this weekend though. : )
Bode invited Kenzie to get a hug from him this morning and it was so sweet. She just ran right over to him, lay her head on his shoulder and wrapped her little arms right around him. How adorable and precious is that?
Not long afterwards, I put on some dance music and Kenzie went over to Bode with her hands out, wanting him to take them and dance with her. He did, of course and they were both grinning from ear to ear. It looked so cute because she is so little and he so big!

8/30/11
Kenzie ate most of her dried apricots and several bites of her whole wheat bagel at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her tilapia, most of her applesauce and a couple bites of pea pasta salad.
Kenzie was really straining and fussing while trying to pass a bowel movement before breakfast. after about 20 minutes, she had gotten out one little pea sized and one small marble sized and that was it. After breakfast she had gone more and it wasn't hard like the first ones, just thick and kind of gooey.
Today Joslyn accidentally bumped into Kenzie as she was carrying some blocks across the room. Kenzie whirled around to face her and just screamed "Jozie!" I have to say that I just cracked up because it was so intense for such an innocent and little thing. It was during the time that she was trying to poop though, which may have had something to do with it. : )
Gary and I both get such a kick out of Kenzie's random "uhllos" (hellos) throughout the day. Sometimes she will put a name along with it, but more than not it is just the "uhllo!" It is so cute!
Kenzie really likes to play with the big indterlocking blocks we have. She stackes them great, uses them like a step stool to get up onto stuff easier and pushes them around the room. Sometimes she makes motor noises as she pushes, which is super cute!

8/29/11
Kenzie ate a bite or two of her craisins and about half of her bran flakes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her pizza, most of her tropical fruit and a couple bites of steamed cauliflower.
Kenzie carried around and played with the "dress me" dollies. She wasn't actually trying to practice any of the dressing skills (zipping, snapping, buttoning, buckling..., but she did have fun just carrying them around.
Kenzie has been playing her own twist of the give and take game. She will say, "Here go!" and hand a toy to one of the other little kiddos (especially the babies), then quickly yank it back before then can actually grab it. She always has such a pleased look on her face when she succeeds or cries like someone has broken her heart if then manage to get it away from her before she can jerk it away. : )
Kenzie was practicing jumping on the floor in the big room today. She was doing an awesome job because she was jumping up and down and actually getting both feet off of the floor. Granted it wasn't very far off, but definitely off, and that was even with one of the "dress me dolls" in her hand.
Kenzie kept trying to put the dress up shorts. Instead of putting them on her legs though, she kept trying to put them on her head! : )

Kenzie ate all of her raisins but no malt-o-meal at breakfast. At lunch she ate a bite of her spaghetti sauce with burger, most of her noodles and all of her mixed fruit and her salad with ranch.
Kenzie was doing some more shopping today. This time she took her "baby" with her. She had the baby in one arm and the purse draped over the other shoulder or arm. It was really cute. She stopped repeatedly to kind of rock and pat the "baby" then went on walking around with the doll and purse. : )
Kenzie may be petite, but she can hold her own. She is pretty mild mannered much of the time, but if someone does something she doesn't like she can be quite feisty. For example today Emily was walking past her. Emily kind of tried to push her aside slightly on the way by and Kenzie didn't like that. She just hauled off and shoved her right over on her bottom. You mess with the wee one and you may regret it! : )
Kenzie made it up to Emily later though. She was "feeding" her pretend cookies. Emily loved it and kept following her around with her mouth open, wanting her to do it some more. Kenzie kept chuckling as she put the cookies into Emily's mouth.

Kenzie ate a bite of her cinnamon raisin english muffin and seconds on fresh blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her potato salad and her canned chicken on saltines. She ate most of her cherries also.
Kenzie was having lots of fun with the play food and accessories this morning. She was carrying around a cup and stirring whatever was in it with a fork frequently. She was also carrying around a couple cookies and trying to share them with me on occasion.
Morgan was pretending to sleep while laying on the floor today and Kenzie saw her. She went over to her, bent over and patted her on the back, gave her a love (head on her shoulder) and said, "Nigh-nigh!" It was adorable. Morgan loved it also.
I have decided Kenzie is practicing up being a little shopper. The last three morning that I have been up and around working and observing, she had spent a substantial part of the time with a purse on her arm or over her shoulder. Today it was really cute because she had three of them over her arm. She then was bending over and peering in each of the toy shelves as if looking at what she wanted to buy. it just cracked me up! : )

Kenzie ate all of her peaches and a bite or two of her biscuit at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her dinner roll and pineapple, about half of her baked beans and a tiny taste of steamed broccoli.
Kenzie was so cute today when she started trying to copy Jadey as she was "exercising". Jadey started out by sitting on the floor with her leg stretched out and up by her ear. Kenzie tried to do that and just fell right on over. She thought that was hilarious. Jadey then started laying down and doing more stretches and Kenzie copied some of them pretty accurately.
Kenzie was extra cuddly with me today and I enjoyed every moment. She didn't cuddle for long any of the times, but just kept coming back frequently for more. I am sure it has to do with her cold, but I can still enjoy the cuddles! Speaking of her nose, she blows it amazingly well for being so young! That is so awesome -- both for us (wiping it less) and for her (clearing it out better and wiping it less to keep it from getting so sore).
Kenzie is amazing at scooping the sand in the sand tables from one cup to another. She was using one scoop the size that comes in formula cans and scooping to fill a medium (probably half-cup) measuring cup. She worked at it until she got it full then either poured it into the sand mill or back into the little one (overflowing it, of course). None of the other kiddos either could do it or wanted to, except Jadey and Bode.

8/23/11
Kenzie ate bites of her hashbrowns and most of her waffle with syrup at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her rice and oranges and most of her shrimp (no carrots -- subbed for peppers).
Kenzie watched as one of the kiddos was putting a scarf over her head and taking it back off again. kenzie went over and got one of the dress-up dresses and put it over her head, then pulled it off and said, "Peek!" with the cutest little grin and chuckle. What a doll!
Kenzie strolled around for a couple of minutes asking "Where go?" with both her voice and her hands. I couldn't figure out what she was looking for and tried several things unsuccessfully. Finally she found what she was looking for -- a specific purse (the one she had filled with the legos yesterday). She chuckled and strolled around with it on her arm for about 15 minutes after finding it.
Kenzie had one of the flip phones up to her ear today and kept saying, "ullo Lauralea" and "Hi Lauralea". It was so cute. I picked up another on of the same kinds of phones and tried to talk to her as she "talked to me", but that wasn't what she wanted at all. I think she liked her conversation with me better than the "real" one. : )

8/22/11
Kenzie ate most of her cheerios and bites of banana at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her apple bits, all of her tomato soup and about half of her grilled cheese sandwich.
Kenzie took one of the purses over to the baby sized lego pieces and filled it up with them. It didn't take very many because they are pretty large, but she was so proud of herself. She packed it around (on either shoulder or arm) for about 20 minutes or so.
Kenzie spent a lot of time building with the huge interlocking blocks today. She kept making towers, Jadey would knock them over and Kenzie would rebuild. I was expecting to have to intervene, but Kenzie just laughed each time and started over. She must have worked with the blocks for a good 15 minutes or more.
There was a lot of trying to snatch toys and yelling "Mine!" from her today. It ranged from blocks to books to scarves to babies... When we would remind her to find another one or help her let go of something she had "stolen" from oone of the other kiddos to exchange it for one that no one was playing with, she cried like we had broker her heart.
Kenzie was walking around with one of the scarves in her arms and singing, "Nigh, nigh, Baby!" What was even cuter was when she lay down on the couch herself and sang it. : ) What a doll!
