Kenzie was very fussy until I gave her her bottle (drank 6 ounces) and put her to bed. I tried putting her down or sitting on the floor with her to see if she wanted to play but she didn't. She just snuggled down closer or cried and then turned to me. She didn't stay up for breakfast, obviously.
After she woke up from her typical nap, she was a little fussy at first and didn't want down to play, but after about 15-20 minutes, she did better. She was a little quiet and did more watching then playing, but she wasn't fussing.
At lunch she ate almost a quarter of a grilled cheese sandwich, cut in small strips, some tiny apple bits and even a few sips of tomato soup. She drink some of her milk cup and some juice too. She didn't want to drink any of her bottle before her afternoon nap.
Since Kenzie didn't play much, I don't have a while lot to write about. What she was enjoying was moving one of the stacking cups up and down so that first another stacking cup and then a little car would bounce around inside. She had a very amused look on her face.

Kenzie drank 4 ounces of her bottle before going down for her morning nap at about 8:30. She was pretty fussy, so I didn't even try to keep her up for breakfast. Gary had also said that she got up early. Her morning nap was a little shorter than usual (by about 15 minutes). At lunch we offered her some cooked ground beef, applesauce and noodles with peas. She ate a couple of spoon fed bites of applesauce, most of the peas and some of her noodles and meat (I think--at least it was chewed up up quite a bit, so some of it probably went down). She drank 6 ounces of her bottle before her afternoon nap.
Kenzie was really straining and crying when she was trying to poop before lunch. I held her and rubbed her back, trying to help her relax and let it go, but she only like a grape sized on out. Hopefully she'll get more out this afternoon. Poor little cutie! A couple things that seem to work with most kiddos is mandarin oranges and kiwi. Both clear things out pretty well with about every kiddo we have had (as long as she would eat them, that is!).
We have out a bunch of the interlocking baby rings (chain looking) in the back room and she and Joslyn were having some pretty good tug-of-wars with them when I took the babies back there while Gary read books to the bigger kiddos. They are both quite determined and pretty equally matched, so no one was giving up. I got a second set to give to one of them, but NO! They both still wanted that one set! Kenzie finally did get the best of her and ended up holding and dragging them around with her for most of the time we were in that room.
Every time I have to redo Kenzie's pony tails, it amazes me. She sits very well, never fusses to be done or get down and holds pretty still overall. I have done a lot of girl's hair and she is about the most cooperative i have ever seen (especially for as young as she is).
We have some of the little "chunky books" (that are about 2 inches by 2 inches) and Kenzie has really started being interested in them. She looks at some of the other board books also, but seems to like the chunky ones better -- probably easier for her to manage because of their size.

Kenzie drank 7 ounces her first bottle and five the second. She was fussy and tired by 8:30 this morning so went down for her nap before breakfast. At lunch she ate a strip of turkey burger (cut in bits, of course), about a quarter of a whole wheat hamburger bun and some green beans. She actually ate quite a bit for her! : )
Kenzie's morning nap was about normal and she hasn't had a bowel movement yet today. After he nap she was much happier and only had a little bit of a fussy time right before lunch. Hunger pains will do that to a girl! : )
Kenzie is really reacting positively to the kiddos more and more. Today when Connor just came close to her, she leaned right up to him to get and give him a love. Later Jadey came over to talk to me and Kenzie (who was on my lap) reached over and wrapped her arms around Jadey's neck in a sweet hug. She and Joslyn were standing side by side at the couch today and Joslyn kind of bumped up against her and Kenzie turned and hugged her. It was really sweet. She isn't actually initiating it, but being very quick to respond.
Kenzie is such a little fireball! Today she was insistent on climbing up onto the little picnic table. I moved her off repeatedly, intervened when I saw her heading up and tried to distract her, but she still managed to make it up at least three times. One of the times I decided to take a picture of it. When she saw I had the camera it was like she knew that it would incriminate her and she scooted right back down, with a big grin on her face. It was almost like she was saying, "Who me? I didn't do anything!" : )

Kenzie drank 5.5 ounces from her first bottle and only 4 at the second. She stayed up and was offered come toast strips and tiny dried mango bits at breakfast (as well as some cheerios). He did eat some of everything, but not a lot. At lunch we offered her some pieces of tortilla, pineapple out of the tropical fruit and sweet potato. It didn't look like she ate much other than the tortilla pieces, but she did eat several cheerios after that and drank some juice.
Kenzie had a typical nap, did a pretty regular sized poop (but it was quite firm) and had a pretty average morning. She did get pretty fussy not long before lunch, which was when she pooped, so it might have been uncomfortable. I saw her messing with her ear quite a bit between her morning nap and lunch, but it could be pain displacement from her teeth too.
Kenzie was holding and carrying one of the phones around quite a bit today. She put it up to her ear several times with an intent look on her face, as if listening to see if someone was there.
One of her favorite things these last couple days is intentionally dropping toys when she is standing or walking around and then saying, "Uh, oh!" It is pretty funny.
We have drums out in one of the back rooms and she had to try them out today. I think she was trying to imitate Keenan's drumming, but couldn't quite match his noise level, believe me!

Kenzie had a really good day today. She ate well -- a 6 ounce and a 5 ounce bottle, some kix cereal and peaches at breakfast. At lunch she ate almost a quarter of a ham sandwich (ham cut in tiny bits and the bread just cute in strips) and a bite of steamed broccoli. She also drank some of her juice and her milk out of her cup. She had a tiny (robin egg sized) poop this morning and a typical morning nap.
She was in a great mood and really exploring all of the new toy exchange stuff. She is such a busy little hummer! she was going from one thing to another the entire time before breakfast. He had to "taste" some of the velcro fruits and vegetables, play with the zippers on the dress up back packs and cuddle with some of the stuffed animals.
She was doing lots of walking today, more walking than crawling, I'd say. Gary and I had figured that when she started she would really just take off. It is cute because she really acts like she knows she is a big shot. She was walking a few steps then turning around to look at me grinning! : ) What a cutie!
Kenzie went over to the big window, pulled herself up and was looking outside and jabbering several times today. Sometimes she just looks out there and others she waves (even when there isn't anyone there). It is pretty cute!

Kenzie only drank about 4 ounces of her morning bottle and was starting to get fussy so I just put her to bed rather than trying breakfast. At lunch we offered whole wheat french bread and cooked carrots. I think most of the bread went in and it looked like a little of the carrots. She drank 6 ounces before her afternoon nap.
She had a poopy diaper about 11:00 today and nap has been normal.
Kenzie was taking LOTS of steps today. Some of them were just in the course of moving from place to place, but she was also wanting to practice by walking between Gary and I too. That is the first time she has really done that. She was talking up to 10. It won't be long until crawling will be a thing of the past now. It was really funny because when she walked we were hooting and clapping, of course. Well, Bode and Cypress decided they needed some celebrating over them and started "walking" between Gary and I also like she had been doing. They are SO funny! : )
Kenzie crawled into the dress-up deal we have with clothes hanging all around her today. She sat there like she was the queen of the castle. It was adorable. Later in the morning, after the kiddos had taken all the dress-ups out she climbed back in and looked around as if searching for the clothes. She didn't stay in long that time -- liked it better with things around her, I guess.
She is such an adorable and sweet little girl. We are sure glad you guys are in our program and we get to enjoy your little treasure! : )

Kenzie drank all of her bottle (about 6.5) ounces before breakfast. She was playing fine, so I kept her up for breakfast, but she only ate a bite of whole wheat bread and started fussing, so I put her to bed. At lunch we offered her a little bit of roll, some chicken bits and some mashed potatoes -- not sure how much made it in her tummy, but it looked like most of the roll did. She drank 7 ounces of her bottle before her afternoon nap.
Kenzie didn't have a poop today and her naps were regular. After her second nap she had lost a pony tail so I went in and searched until I found it (and one from before). It is amazing how well she sits to get her hair done. Most kiddos her age just squirm all over, but she sits very still. It almost seems like the wants it done.
Kenzie was up and down at the big window, looking out then going to do something else then looking out again. She loves being mobile and that is just going to get better and better. She was taking 1-5 steps several times today between things. It is so cute! I love this stage!
She reminded me of a puppy today. So many times when I looked at her she had some toy in her mouth. She especially likes having one of the goggles hanging out by the strap. Silly goose! : )

Kenzie drank all of her before breakfast bottle. She was pretty tired so I put her down for a nap rather than doing our breakfast with her. At lunch she ate some noodles and corn. I am not sure how much because it goes in and out so much and ends up in little pieces every where. Today I actually had to rinse her hair off in the sink it was so gooey! She didn't mind that at all and then sat so still while I dried it off, combed it out and redid her pony tails. She drank all of her mid-day bottle before going down for her afternoon nap. She hasn't had a poopy diaper yet so far today.
Kenzie saw that I had her bottle this morning when I was getting things situated to feed it to her. She was at the other end of the couch and started furniture walking right over to get it. I saw that her nose was running so I got a tissue out of my pocket to wipe it and when she saw that she turned around and almost ran the other direction. It was funny!
Kenzie was carrying around the dress-up goggles quite a bit this morning. For about 5 minutes she had a pair of goggles in each hand. Wherever she crawled, she had them hanging from her hand as she moved around. I did see her put them up to her head once, but not really try to put them on. Other than that, she was just carrying them.
Kenzie loves it now that she can pull herself up to the big window in the big room. She goes over and looks out several times almost every day. Today she was looking out at the snow and waving, then banking on the window with her hand (and the goggles that were dangling off of her hand).

Kenzie ate a couple mini-bites of both blueberry muffin and pears at breakfast. She drank about 4.5 ounces of her morning bottle and 5 ounces of her noon one. At lunch she didn't want anything to do with ANY food. Her nose was also very runny at that time, so that might have played some part in it. I tried her baby food, some sweet potatoes, some saltines, juice and milk. She didn't even want the cracker and that is usually a sure deal. She definitely isn't going to put on those desired pounds eating like she had today! Ugh! : )
She had a pretty normal nap today, but went back down a little early for her afternoon one. She was just pretty tired acting and beside herself. She had a poopy diaper at 12:00 before going down, so hopefully she will be able to rest well.
Connor had been gone yesterday and Kenzie was obviously gone on Friday so they hadn't seen each other for a few days. When Connor came today he followed her around like a little puppy dog for about the first 15 to 20 minutes. Kenzie didn't seem to mind at all and when Connor lay his head in lap while she was sitting on the soft climber she even leaned over and gave him a love. It was pretty precious!
Kenzie loves pushing the ice cream carts around and it cracks me up how fast she goes with them until she hits something! She just pushes them fro all she is worth and races to keep up. It looks especially funny because she is so small.
In the back room, Kenzie really was playing on the little xylophone pianos. She sat right in front of one of them and was playing it like she was a mini-mistro! It looked really cute!

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you are having and continue to have a great day!
I decided to try keeping Kenzie up for breakfast, since we are trying to get more calories into her. So today she drank about 4.5 ounces of formula-milk mix before breakfast, ate a few corn chex soaked in milk and some bits of fruit from the fruit salad. It is really hard to tell how much she actually eats because it goes in and out of her mouth so much until it is just mush, but it did look like she ate some (especially of the cereal). At lunch she ate all of her yogurt and again some pieces of beef sandwich (mostly bread) and apple (but not sure how much). I didn't try tomato soup, since it doesn't look like she has had anything tomato-y. : ) She drank some of her juice also. Before her afternoon nap she then drank about 6 ounces of her formula-milk mix.
Because she stayed up for breakfast, her morning nap was about 20 minutes shorter than usual. She was a little fussier before lunch and it might have been because of not sleeping as long. She also had a poopy diaper at 11:00, so that might have contributed to the fussiness, I don't know. She was definitely ready to go back down for her afternoon nap. If you would rather I didn't keep her up for BK, please let me know.
Kenzie pushed the ice cream cart around the big room and really enjoyed that. She hates it when it stops because she runs it into something and loves it when I fix it so it will go again. : )
Keenan wanted to "read" stories to her, so I put her up on the couch beside him and she sat there and watched as he "read" to her for several minutes. It looked really cute.
Kenzie loves it when Gary "gets" her (pretends to come after her, tries to kiss her neck, tickles her...). He always pretends he's going to get her when I am on my way to lay her down for her naps and then also will do it frequently when she crawls over to him on the floor. Her reactions are so cute. She always grins all over and kind of scrunches up. She is such a dolly!

So, with all of that said, Kenzie drank all 6 ounces of her bottle this morning, but only three after lunch. She did eat all of her yogurt plus a couple bites of our squash, half of a crescent roll and some of her juice so she might have just been too full for her bottle.
She seemed to know that she was the princess of the day because she was really being a ham and kind of showing off fairly frequently. : ) Her little tutu was so cute that I took a ton of pictures of her. She was her usual busy little self so several were pretty blurry and got deleted, but I did get several adorable ones!
It was really funny because as she crawled along the velcro cake pieces kept getting stuck to her tutu and she was carrying along 1-3 pieces of 'cake' much of the morning. I would take them off and a couple minutes later there was more on it!
