7/31/12

Kenzie ate seconds on waffles and all of her hashbrowns at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her shrimp, about half of her rice, a couple bites of oranges and of green beans.

Kenzie was very excited that Jadey was here today.  It was as if Jadey hadn't even been gone.  The dynamics picked right back up where they had left off and the friend/foe play intact.  Kenzie and Morgan were both more feisty, but I think it had to do with the different dynamics.

Coral decided that we should do bath foam finger painting and all of the kiddos (except Peyton) were very excited and engaged in that.  Coral also hid the play keys around the big room and then had the kiddos try to find them.  They all thought that was great!

For some reason, probably Jadey's noticing the "new" item, they all were extra interested in the lava lamp!  Gary got it off the high shelf and put it down onto the top of the block shelf, pushed it way back where they couldn't reach it (because it gets pretty hot) so they would watch it easier.  They were fascinated with it for several minutes.

Outside the kiddos ran races with Gary and then chased bubbles.  Kenzie was always very close to Jadey and kind of seemed to be in competition with Morgan for Jadey's attention.

7/30/12

Kenzie was very excited about the toy exchange and pretty much spent some time checking it all out (except the puzzles).  They were all very engaged most of the morning.

One of the first things she spent any time at all on was the tool benches.  She really wanted to collect all of the nails and screws, but cooperated pretty well and shared after I explained that there were four for each work bench.

Morgan and Kenzie then must have decided that the work boots would make good tool boxes because they both started filling them with "nails", "screws" and tools.

One of the other things both Kenzie and Morgan were doing was playing with the play food.  Morgan made a 'sandwich" that was about 1.5 inches tall and was pretending to eat it.  She then offered it to Kenzie for her to take a bite, but Kenzie told her it was "too big for my little mouth".

Kenzie must have told me that she needed her nose wiped at least 20 times.  She was super good about holding still while I wiped it with the boogie wipes but started telling me it was getting sore right before lunch.

7/27/12

Kenzie ate several bites of her oatmeal and craisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her applesauce, most of her pasta with peas and grated cheese and a bite of two of hamburger.

Kenzie remade what I had helped Morgan build into a "boat" and played first with Thomas then with Joslyn for quite a while with it.  She was in the boat with them, sitting on the edge and giving the orders (mostly), and then outside the boat pushing it around (or trying to) with Joslyn in it. As you can see in the picture on your right, she had not just one but TWO cell phones that she was talking on as they 'sailed' along.  Joslyn had to imitate that, of course.

Along the topic of phones, she was carrying the one bigger blue duplo around and told me "I got a blue phone".  She then was talking to some one and said, "Hello!  What's going on?  (pause)  Oh, my goodness!"  It sounded so real and was so funny.

Today Kenzie came up to me and said "close you eyes".  I did and that was my first mistake.  I felt this kind of slimyish wet hand on my forehead.  I opened my eyes and she was just getting ready to stick her hand back into her mouth to get them ready for round number two!  Ugh!  I should have known better!  She was cracking up!  : )  I think it was probably supposed to be sun screen.  Hmmmm.....

7/26/12

Kenzie ate only a bite of her blueberries and her blueberry bread pudding at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her mandarin oranges, most of her ground turkey sandwich and a bite of her green beans.

Kenzie (and we) thought it was so funny today when Morgan noticed Kenzie's shirt and said laughingly, "Your back is naked!"

Emily was kind of doing her own things and withdrawing from the play activity this morning, choosing to lay down on the big room step instead.  Kenzie went over to her, looked her right in the eye and said, "don't lay down.  It's a bad word!"  : )  I am not sure what the connection was, but it cracked me up!

I already wrote about this is Riley's journal, but Kenzie was determined to get Riley to "lay down on your nap mat" (doll blanket).  She did briefly then Kenzie followed her around for  awhile trying to get her to cooperate.  Finally she gave up and tucked Thomas in instead.  He was a way less challenging.  In fact he lay there long after she wanted him to.  We had to finally tell him that he could get up and do something else.  : )

Kenzie was walking around telling everyone "I lookin' for a singer".  Of course, that meant an echophone!  No, I didn't know that until I saw what she finally found.

While we were outside this morning a train whistle blew pretty loudly.  Kenzie made a bee-line for Gary's lap.  You would have thought the train was coming after her.  She was still a little freaked out about it at lunch time and talked about the loud whistle, but it was "too far away to see it".

7/25/12

Kenzie ate all of her dried mangoes and most of her whole wheat toast with jelly at breakfast.  She went out and was watching Gary as he fixed the toast before breakfast.  Somehow they got calling it "jelly belly toast" and Kenzie thought that was hilarious.  At lunch she ate all of her tropical fruit, about half of her beef and bean burrito and a bite of her sweet potatoes.

Kenzie was done melting down about the time your car came around the corner this morning.  She was a little cuddling for about 10 more minutes, but was chuckling at watching the other kiddos and at me teasing her within just a minute or so.

Kenzie was standing with one foot each on a square block and scooting standing self across the room.  She said she was "skating".  I don't know if she came up with it herself or it was from Morgan, but it was pretty funny!  What was even funnier was watching Thomas try to imitate her.  He crashed over and over again, but would NOT give up!

Kenzie got poked in the eye this morning and was standing in front of the mirror checking it out and rubbing it.  She turned to me and said, "I maybe need some eye drops.  I'll use some of Daddy's when I get home!"  She is just too cute!  : )

Thomas was trying to put all of the blocks out individually and tipped a certain way today.  Kenzie watched him as he stopped working for a minute and was kind of just surveying what he had done.  She immediately stepped up and started helping him turn them over and lay them out like he had been doing, telling me, "Thomas need help!"

7/24/12

Kenzie ate all but a bite of her prunes and about half of her cinnamon roll at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her waffles, bites of her hashbrowns and scrambled eggs and a bite of her cantaloupe.

Out of the blue today Kenzie announced, I'm gonna show you Jadey!  Sure enough over to the block creations' poster she went and pointed out Jadey in one of the pictures.  She then asked, "Hey, where is Jadey anyway?"  : )

Several of the kiddos were playing at the little picnic table with the food stuff and plates.  Kenzie became the self-appointed "fooder" which I think could be translated as 'server'.  She was giving the children different kinds of food, some upon request and others just randomly.  They played there for 15 or so minutes.

Kenzie and Morgan were also being engineers.  Kenzie was a little confused about the engineer cap though.  She was determined that the adjustment band was an under the chin strap so that it ended up looking more like a bonnet that an engineer's cap, but ...

Outside Kenzie pulled Riley around in the wagon for a long time.  She loves doing that and Riley is thrilled when Kenzie pulls her, so it works out well.

7/23/12

Kenzie ate all of her mixed fruit and probably close to half of her Kix cereal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her ham sandwich and a tasting bite of both broccoli and kiwi.

Kenzie immediately asked me to help her build "a train" when she came.  When we got it built she plopped down on it and started singing "Down by the station".  It was cute.  It only lasted as a train for about 10 minutes then she and Morgan decided to tear it apart to make multiple other creations.

One thing they made with them was two slabs of them and stacked them on top of each other like a very precarious two layer stage.  She and Morgan each had one and what they were doing then was even funnier.  One of them would call out an invented (made-up) word and they other one would laugh like crazy at it.  Then they would switch and the other one would call out a word and on it went.  I decided it was their version of a comedy show.  : )

Another thing they were doing with the big blocks was playing what Morgan called "bumper boats" and then what Kenzie called "go fast".  They were almost the same game.  In Morgan's they each sat ON one of the blocks and tried to crash into other blocks and in Kenzie's they stood and pushed one of the big blocks around the room as fast as possible into other blocks.  They both were laughing the majority of the time.

Outside most mornings (including this one) the kiddos ask to do bubbles so I do the bubbles with this huge multi-bubble wand and they chase them and try to pop them before the fall to the ground or go too high in the air.  For a while today the wind was just perfect to blow some HUGE ones to chase.

7/20/12

Kenzie ate a lot of her raisins and about half of her rice at breakfast.  At lunch she ate most of her French bread, about half of her meat loaf and a bite of both her dried apricots and her cooked carrots.

Kenzie was very cuddly first thing this morning -- probably a little traumatized about the shoe swallowing episode.  Later, when she was washing for breakfast, she got some soap in her mouth and I said, "soap and toys are not for eating, just food".  She thought about that for a few seconds and said, "I need to carefully get the shoe out!"  Poor sweetie!

When I went to do Morgan's hair this morning, she chose four 'pony' colors instead of one.  Kenzie noticed it and when the pony she had in her hair started loosening up she asked for "four like Morgie".  They turned out pretty cute!

Morgan and Kenzie played in the "box" a lot this morning.  Morgan accidentally tipped out of the box and onto her hands and thought it was funny.  For the next 10 or so minutes she and Kenzie kept tipping over then either pulling themselves back up right or tipping on our of the box and climbing back in.  Kenzie had to work a lot harder to pull herself back up because of having no weight on the bottom.  There was lots of laughter and, amazingly, no tears!

Morgan and Kenzie (and I) played with the big blocks a lot today.  First of all Kenzie made a "zign" (design) "to clean the sidewalk", then Morgan copied it.  After they tired of that they went over to the block poster Missy and I made and put up a couple weeks ago.  They studied it for a while and Morgan pointed to one of the pictures and said, "How 'bout we do that one?"  So I helped them make "that one" and then a different one after they tired of it.

Two semi random bits of information.  First Kenzie frequently calls Emily "Emiwee Acole Fwitch", which I think is SO cute.  The second is that Kenzie started calling our new lava lamp a "lova-lamp" today, so that is its new name.  : )  I "lova" her!  : )

7/17/12

Kenzie and Morgan decided that Emily was their patient today and they were using the stethoscopes to listen to her back and shoulder and legs.  Emily put up with it for a while then they moved on to "fixing" their dolls.

Morgan and Kenzie played together (and fought together) a lot today.  Two different times I actually had to physically separate them because they were clawing at each other's face over spacial or item issues.  Whew!  They are both so determined to win in situations like that that there is no give on either end, it seems.  I reminded them again about how Tucker the Turtle would act to his friends and they did a little better over all after that.  One of the main arguments was over "I wanna drive" in the box with the blocks all tossed in all around them.  There are two sides of the box and I tried to show them how it could be two different cars so they each could drive, but no...

Morgan and Kenzie played with the blocks a lot and one of the things they were making them into was a "bed" with a "pillow" all out of blocks.  Emily's pillow was kind of big and Gary said it must be a "body pillow".  Morgan misinterpreted it and announced "It's a potty pillow" then they all commenced to taking turns going "potty" on it (pretending that is!).  : )

Morgan and Kenzie were also being great little musicians today.  First they were really into using the tambourines and then they moved on to being vocalists with the echophones, singing at the top of their lungs while watching themselves in the mirror.

7/19/12

Kenzie ate thirds on cinnamon toast and all of her grapes at breakfast.  At lunch she ate very little more than tasting bites of her chicken, roll, cherries and mashed potatoes, probably too full from breakfast.  : )

Kenzie asks "What's that silly Gary doing?" several times throughout the day.  Sometimes it is obvious what he is doing and other times not so much, but I love how she asks it.  It is always with an impish half to full-amused look on her face.

Riley loves it when Kenzie interacts with her like she was with the little airplanes on the couch this morning.  Kenzie is usually too busy playing with Morgan to do it much, but there is always a time or two through out the day when she gives Riley her undivided attention and Riley eats it up!

Kenzie actually played in solitaire for a while today, which just doesn't happen very often.  She is almost always either hanging out with either Gary or I or else playing with one of the kiddos (usually Morgan).  Today she sat and read in the big yellow chair for about 20 minutes.

She also played with one of the little dolls and was doing "This Little Piggy" to its toes.  She did it over and over and was pretending the baby was laughing when she did it.  It was really cute.

7/18/12

I was going to catch up on yesterdays first, but have misplaced my notes, so will do today first and finish those when I find them again.  Sorry!

Kenzie ate all of her peaches and about half of her whole wheat bagel at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her salad with ranch dressing, most of her HM macaroni and cheese, about half of her her ham and a bite of her corn.

Kenzie was throwing all of the little cars into the box to keep them from Peyton and Riley until we realized what she was doing and had her take them back out so others could play with them.  Silly (but smart) little goose!

I was holding Riley for a little this morning and she was actually being pretty cuddly so I told Gary that she was being a little cuddle bug.  Kenzie came racing over and hugged me then said, "I'n a cuddle bug too!"  She really is a cuddle bug at times, but the way she did it was SO cute!  : )

I have noticed Kenzie in conflict with Thomas quite a bit lately.  I have also observed enough that I feel confident that it is a two way street.  Thomas really thinks he is (or wants to be) a big kiddo so is constantly pushing his way in between she and Morgan or just into whatever they are doing.  Well Kenzie just doesn't like that and makes no bones about it!  : )

Morgan and Kenzie got along great today -- not one conflict and they played together basically all morning.  they were driving the little vehicles on the big block "road" I made for them (could have also been a sidewalk or stage).

They were using the "box" as their "elebator (elevator)" and were talking about pushing the buttons and going up and down, so they must have actually known what one is.  Emily heard them and kept saying, "I want to ride on an "alligator" too."  I am assuming that she isn't familiar with the term 'elevator'!  : )  I love how versatile "the box" is.  It gets used for cars, trains, planes, buses, "the garbage", storage, house, room...  Now we will add 'elevator' to the list!

Morgan and Kenzie were also playing with the duplo blocks a lot this morning.  I have found that if I kind of start a base for them, they will really become engaged with building on that base.  This morning I made a base for each of the kiddos and they really got into it!

7/16/12

Kenzie ate about half of her Chex cereal and all of her mixed fruit at breakfast.  At lunch she ate a couple bites of both her apple slices and her roast beef sandwich and about half of her tomato soup.

Kenzie was excited to explore all of the "new" toys and play with many of them with Morgan.  They played together almost exclusively all morning long (both inside and out).  They started with building and knocking over big block towers.  They would build them as tall as we would let them ("only as tall as you are") and just crack up as they came crashing down.

They were also singing heartily into the echo phones together.  They were standing on the little yellow bench (for their stage, I assume), then singing song after song.  When one of them couldn't think of another one, they would just make up a song about one of the toys or activities.  It just cracks me up!

Both Morgan and Kenzie were "doctorin'" Joslyn.  She put up with it for about 10 minutes before their poking and probing started to get on her nerves and I had to tell them she had had enough and they needed to move on to either each other or one of the dollies.  That wasn't nearly as fun, obviously, because they soon abandoned that activity and moved on.

Morgan and Kenzie were racing around outside today searching for something and saying what I originally thought was "Mickey".  As I listened more closely, I realized they were saying "My Key".  Hmmm.  I wonder if one or the other of them has ever witnessed mom or dad in a similar activity?  : )

7/13/12

Kenzie ate all of her prunes and about a third of her oatmeal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her mandarin oranges, most of her biscuit and a couple bites of the hashbrown casserole.

I finally got the "choice cards" that go along with Tucker the Turtle laminated and was showing them to the kiddos.  Kenzie wanted me to go through them over and over again.  There are about 10 cards, I think and they have choices (with pictures) like "takes turns", "use your words", "Ask a teacher for help", "Say Move back"...  I changed the wording slightly to be more consistent with the terms they are already familiar with, but they are all good ones.

Kenzie was playing with the back packs again, but she hasn't put the books in them after the painful flipping surprise yesterday.  She and Morgan were also really trying to work the waist packs, but those clasps (or "clips" as they call them) are pretty hard so they had to have help with them.

Kenzie and Morgan were standing side by side today and Alayna got the crazy idea she should try to push in between them.  Alayna is pretty determined, but she met her match with Kenzie and it did not end well.  Just when Alayna thought she was going to make it, Kenzie attacked and out Alayna came with a pretty good mark on her cheek.  This scenario isn't a new on but Alayna keeps on trying hoping the outcome will be different, I guess.  Usually we are able to intervene before she gets hurt, but not always.

7/12/12

Kenzie ate a bite of her cantaloupe and all of the french bread at breakfast. At lunch she didn't eat very much at all (just tasting bites, I think).  I am sure it was because she was so tired because she kept laying her head on my knee at the table and then went to sleep almost immediately at nap time.

Morgan was building with and playing with the big blocks both in and out of the box today.  She and Kenzie especially seem to like to carry them back and forth putting them in and taking them out!  One of the times that she and Joslyn were in the box, Kenzie came over and asked them what sounded like, "Do you want beer?"  Obviously Joslyn thought so too because she said, "Ya! I wanna beer" back to her.  Morgan looked at Kenzie for a minute then said, "I want water!"  : )  The whole exchange just cracked me up!

Morgan and Kenzie were also making big duplo towers at the Lego table today.  I don't know if they were actually completing, but they sure were making a big demonstration of showing each other how wonderful each of theirs was.  : )

Kenzie and Alayna had a conflict over space today that ended in Kenzie biting her on the top of her arm.  I intervened kind of right in the middle of it so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Kenzie loaded one of the back packs totally down with books then tried to flip it over her head to wear it.  Well, with all of that weight, it kind of came down with a pretty good thump on her back and upper bottom.  It not just surprised her, but hurt too, I think.  She had to come over for some empathy and snuggles after that one.

7/11/12

Gary and I have both really noticed that the majority of the time it is easy to tell then Kenzie has been aggressive to one of her friends because she will race over to hug them just as soon as they start to wail or tell on her. What we haven't decided for sure is if that is an act of genuine remorse, an act of terror (Oh no! I'm in for it now) or hopes it will either get her off the hook or in less trouble. She is amazingly smart, so any of the above could be possible. Kenzie was "reading books" to one of the dolls while sitting first on the little yellow bench then moving onto the big chair. I think it is so cute how she is at the stage where she wants to actually tell the story like it is really (more or less) rather than just b abbling or making up a story line along the way. Kenzie enjoyed chasing bubbles (or in her case, standing around and hoping that some bubbles will come her way. she did chase some but only briefly when one came right by her.

7/10/12

Kenzie ate all of her dried apricots and a couple bites of her whole wheat bagel at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her applesauce and her peas & pasta with grated cheese on it.  She also had a couple bites of her tilapia.

Riley climbed in the block shelf and started scooting all of the little animals out and onto the floor.  Kenzie went over and started picking them up and putting them back in the shelf.  The only problem was that she was throwing them right at Riley (totally intentionally).  When I told her she needed to put them down gently so she didn't hurt Riley she said, "Oh...  It's OK!"  About that time Riley winged on back at her and Kenzie burst into tears.  I had to think "Hmmm...  That would be a great example of natural and logical consequences!"  Kenzie didn't throw any more at Riley after that, so I guess she got the picture!  : )

Kenzie had a very messy poop accident today.  Unlike her usual ones, this one was pretty soft.  Consequently it leaked out of her panties and shorts and ended up on the carpet in two spots unbeknownst to us initially.  While I was back in the bathroom with Kenzie cleaning up the mess on her butt, clothes, down her legs and on the potty and floor (from pulling her pants down and trying to go more on the toilet), Gary was out in the big room with the rest of the kiddos.  Pretty soon, Peyton goes over to him carrying something in her hands and wanting to give it to him.  He holds out is hand and Peyton plops a handful of poop into his hand.  He yelled for help and we found two spots on the carpet after we got Peyton and Gary's hands sanitized.  Oops!

Morgan and Kenzie each put on a dress-up back-pack and were hiking around the room.  Kenzie said they were "going to school", but Morgan didn't agree and said they were going to something that sounded like "oowahloo".  I asked her to repeat it several times, but never did decipher a word I was familiar with.  : )  Kenzie tried to help her interpret, but I still couldn't get it.

Morgan and Kenzie were also playing with and examining the fish on the little picnic table together.  First of all, they took each of them apart (they come into two pieces) and then Morgan got one of the play flashlights and was really examining them.  Kenzie was right there asking Morgan "What looking at?" and other great scientific questions.  : )

Monday, July 9, 2012

7/9/12

Kenzie ate about half of her bran flakes and most of her craisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her cheese pizza, most of her tropical fruit and a tasting bite of her summer squash (traded it for cauliflower today).

Kenzie really seemed to enjoy the switch we did this weekend.  We traded the blocks and duplos for the mattress since we are able to go outside more now.  We hadn't been spending much time in the back rooms so the blocks and duplos weren't getting used.  Today all of the kiddos played with them a lot until we went outside.  Kenzie and Morgan especially built with the duplos.  Kenzie made a couple of them into a 'phone' and was talking to mom, "Hey mom, what's going on?"  That cracked me up.  I could just imagine Jamie saying that to HER mom!  : )

Morgan showed Kenzie how she could turn one of the big blocks upside down and use the holes to put some of the smaller animals in it.  They were calling the holes the animals' 'car seats'.  Outside when Riley was in the wagon, Kenzie was also saying she was in her car seat.

Alayna was kind of just wandering around, as if looking for something.  Kenzie had obviously been watching her because she looked at her than asked me, "What's that Layna doin'?"

I used the big bubble wand to make bubbles for the kiddos to catch when we went outside today.  Kenzie would just stand in one spot (rather than chasing after them like the other kiddos were) and say in a pitiful little voice, "I want some..."

7/6/12

Kenzie ate several bites of her malt-o-meal and probably about half of her raisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her salad with ranch dressing, most of her noodles and her mixed fruit and a couple bites of the meaty spaghetti sauce.

Kenzie and Morgan wanted to watch me cook the malt-o-meal at breakfast today.  They were sitting together in one of the dining room chairs and Morgan suddenly bent over and licked Kenzie's knee then told me about it and cracked up.  Kenzie wasn't as impressed initially, but decided if Morgan thought that might be a fun game she would try it too.  She tried to do it back to Morgan and Morgan stopped her and said, "Don't do that.  It's yucky!"  ; )

Morgan was trying to put on one of the back packs today.  She lay it on the floor and got her arms into it like she does her coat, but it was too heavy to flip it up and over her head.  She asked Kenzie to help her, which she was more than willing to do.  After a couple failed attempts they finally got it and both of them were SO proud!

Kenzie must have announced to everyone that it was Riley Roo's birthday at least 10 times today.  Each time we sang to her or someone gave her loves or told her "happy birthday".  It was very cute.  Kenzie takes good care of her little sis.

Kenzie and Morgan were putting the stuffed animals in "the laundry" to wash and re-wash them today.  The "laundry" was behind and under the climber/balance beam in the big room.  Kenzie was also burying Morgan with them so well that I couldn't see any of her.  When I asked where Morgan was, Kenzie thought it was funny and laughed as she showed me.  : )

Thursday, July 5, 2012

7/5/12

Kenzie ate about half of her cinnamon raisin English muffin and a bite of blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her canned cherries, about half of her chicken on cracker and a bite of her potatoes.

Kenzie really wanted to hang out with either Gary or I much on inside play time today. Outside she played more, but still not like usual. Probably just from being tired from the fireworks last night. Kenzie spent a fair amount of time harassing Gary. He was holding her on the couch and she was putting her forhead against his forehead or nose and the n rubbing it back and forth. She was also tipping herself backwards so he had to catch her and just teasing and laughing with him. Both of your girls are SO fun loving! It is awesome!

The kiddos were talking about different animals today so I decided to get out my computer and show them the Sea World and San Diego Zoo pictures. There were lots of them, but most of the kiddos stayed for the entire thing. There was a short video of some puffins playing in the water (and diving under the water) that the kiddos just cracked up watching.

Kenzie asked "Where's Riley Roo?" several times today when she was napping today and she usually doesn't do that anymore. She really loves her little sister and it is so fun to watch her interact with her. She was pulling her around in the wagon outside today, which Roo loves.

7/2/12

Kenzie ate all of her waffle and syrup and a bite of her hashbrowns at breakfast today. At lunch she ate all of her shrimp and rice, about half of her orange slices and a bite of her red peppers. Kenzie took the spanish words book over to Gary and asked him to "read" it. He started out telling her what the different items were in spanish just to be funny, but Kenzie obviously liked it because she kept asking him "what's that?" so he would say more words. Today Kenzie was sitting on the potty after telling me she needed to go. I told her I was proud of how well she was telling us when she needed to go potty. She answered with "You take good care of me (pause) so Morgie don't bite me." I have no idea what that had to do with anything (and Morgan hasn't been biting), but it sure was funny! Gary asked Kenzie something pretty nuetral today, but Kenzie obviously thought otherwise because she said, "Gary teasin' me. He always teaskin' me!" I just cracked up up!! I think it is so funny how she and Riley wrestle and play on the mattress. Kenzie is very careful to not hurt or scare her, but no one else can "bug" her like that. And the other thing is that Riley is the instigator almost as much as Kenzie! : ) She is just as much, if not more of a fireball as her big sister! : )

Monday, July 2, 2012

7/1/12

Kenzie ate all of her banana and about half of her Cheerios at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her grilled cheese sandwich, about half of her tomato soup and a bite of her apple slices. Kenzie explored the new toys and acted happy to see Morgan was here this morning. They played (and fought a couple times) like they hadn't been away from each other. It was pretty cute to watch them. A couple of the things that Morgan and Kenzie did today were read stories together and play with the dress-up animal costumes. When they were reading, Morgan was 'quizzing' Kenzie and asking her "What's that?" about everything she pointed to in the book. Emily joined in a few times with answers too, but it was mostly just Morgan and Kenzie. Kenzie was also having a hard time getting the costumes on and Morgan was being a very good friend and helping her push her legs through, find the arm holes, put the hoods on and zip them up. : ) Kenzie loved playing with the back packs and has the one she was carrying stuffed totally full with food, phones and dolls. She loves putting things into containers. We had a deer walk down the street by our house today and the kiddos all really enjoyed watching that. After it was out of sight, Kenzie asked, "Where'd it go?" Morgan looked at her and said, "We just have to keep our eyes open and see if it comes back!" I cracked up. Does that sound like something one of us adults would say, or what?! : )
